Recently Alpine Communications changed the channel numbers of 17 “digital local” networks. The moved shocked a few customers into thinking Alpine Communications removed these networks from FusionTV altogether. That wasn’t the case. Instead, the explanation was simple. Alpine Communications ran out of channel numbers due to the increase in new networks and only the channel number changed.
Alpine Communications launched its all-digital FusionTV service in 2009. Included in FusionTV’s channel lineup were favorite local channels such as KGAN – CBS, KWWL – NBC, KCRG – ABC, and so on. Over the years, “digital local” channels became customer-favorites such as KCRG 9.2 MyNetworkTV, KWWL 7.3 MeTV, KFXA 28.2 Charge TV, and many more.
Since 2009, Alpine added more than 17 digital local networks to FusionTV. The addition of new channels presented a challenge; the lineup was full, and Alpine Communications ran out of space in the traditional channel numbering tier of 2-29.
As a result, on May 1, 2019, Alpine Communications changed the order and number of the channels to accommodate the growing number of digital local networks. Since that date, Alpine also added CourtTV to the FusionTV channel lineup. Alpine anticipates more networks to be added in the future, too.
